Propane or CNG Converting

These gasoline and diesel fuel prices are scary. Does anybody out there have any thoughts or experience about converting their Class A to either Propane or CNG ?

Bank in the sixties we converted our tractors over to propane and everything went well. we didn't notice any loss of power but was told we would. We converted because we had a large propane tank for heating the house. Besides and it was safer to store propane than gas. the price wasn't a factor back then

Actually, Hollis, it was probably butane. There's a big difference in energy available from butane. We used it on the farm and in the trucks. But the trucks were dual fuel out of necessity.

Propane contains less energy than gasoline. And although the price has been lagging gas, it is rising. Some places now charge 2.99 for propane and 3.29 for gas. Doesn't sound like it would be worth it...
