Re-inforcing Under Slide

When I was looking at purchasing an entry level fifth wheel, the salesman mentioned that it was a good idea to put something under the slide to reinforce it. I ended up purchasing a Cardinal which I believe is a better built unit. Does anyone reinforce their slides? I looked around in the campground over the weekend and saw only one slide being reinforced and it looked like they were using something like a stabilizer jack to do it.

Thank you for your input.

MORNING LEE, I started to buy some jacks to support my sides, but I really don't think we need them in todays units.
