roof maintenance

We purchaced a used traveltrailer last year. This is our first. What type of maintenance should we do on the roof? It looks like it may have leaked a little over the winter-a little wrinkley in the cieling.
It is a 1988 Wilderness by Fleetwood/28'.
Thanks!!

Hi!
-First thing I would look for is the caulking around the roof vents, check for cracks in the caulking.
-This unit probably has a metal roof which is installed in sections, check all seams for cracks in sealer.
-Check caulking at all vent stacks, frig vent and anything that protrudes through the roof.
Hope this helps.

Thank you. The roof does look like it is in sections. Do we scrape off the old caulking? Any special kind to use for campers or just the flexible kind for outdoor home use? What about the sealer? Old stuff removed? Do you recommend a particular brand? Also looks like caulking at edges where there is a metal type moulding. Should this be scraped and replaced?
Gee, can you tell we were tenting until last year?!?

Nothing wrong with Tenting, We tented ourselves for a few years. You should contact your local dealer for the proper caulk or sealer. "caulking at edges where there is a metal type moulding" This comes in a roll (1/4"x 1" aprox.), you lay it in place and reinstall the mouldings.
One other place to watch out for water leaks is around the windows especially the front window.
