Rubber Roofs vs Alpha System Vinyl Roofs
Either is roof is good. The only reall difference is that the vinyl roof will not dry-rot like the rubber roof. Most manufactures now are gearing up to move the the vinyl roofs, because of the dry ro problems with the rubber roofs.. Hope that helps

Hi mrspar0hd, both are excellent roof systems, the EPDM (rubber) does not dry rot it does oxidize, which causes the white chaulking if they aren't washed once or twice a year, the vinyl (Brite-tec / Alpha system) is fairly new and I couldn't find the mfg. only a number of rv mfg. using it. Alpha claims its the next generation of roof covering, I guess time will tell if thats the coming thing.
