I am wanting to know the best and most secure way to anchor a satelite dish on a tripod. I am heading to the local hardware store tomorrow and looking for good way to secure the tripod. without pounding into the ground several feet
I drilled a hole at an angle in each foot and use tent stakes, the round ones, and have never had a problem. Course, this would not work if on concrete or pavement.
Do the campgrounds complain of the holes you punch into the concrete pads when you set the dish on one?
Lots of us just use a jug of water under the center of the tripod. I have always used a dog tie that screws into the ground and it don't do any better than Chelse's tent pegs on paved ground.
HA,HA Kirk no, I have never tried to drive the pegs in the concrete or pavement . Have always been able to find a spot on soil so far  Guess I could drill holes in the concrete and use the plastic inserts
