Squeeky Floor

We just picked up our new fifth wheel last week. When we looked at it there was a bad squeak in the floor. I asked the salesman if this could be fixed and he said it could. On the walk through the squeak was not there. We went camping for the first time this week end and the squeak was back. This my be common on something that moves as much as a trailer does, I'm not sure. Just looking for input should I return for warranty work or is this just something common on a trailer. Thanks

Re: Squeeky Floor

Wood floors tend to squeek, but can be braced so they don't move as much. Hot/cold (expansion/contraction)sometimes affects how much they squeek.

It depends upon why the floor is squeaking, just what can be done about it. The floor is usually screwed down to the framework and to fix a loose area would require removing the carpet of floor covering. It was done for us under warranty but they also had to replace the tile on the floor.
