Suggestions for RV trip to the Tetons

We live in S. California. We have been motor homing for about 4 years but this is our first big trip. We have a 31 foot class C motor home. We are wanting to plan a 2-3 week trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone in July.
Any suggestions as to where to stay, roads to take and things to see.

Head north on I15 thru utah and into Idaho, cross over to 89 at brigham city, Utah for the back roads and most scenic route stay on that to tetons. Or you can stay on 15 to 20 out of Idaho Falls and catch the tetons on your way home. I no longer like to stay in yellowstone park but west yellowstone or island park. Lots of rv parks either way. If you are going to stay anywhere up that area I suggest you get reservations now or you may find your out of luck come July. Even in Yellowstone Park it pays to make reservations 6 months out same with the tetons and so on. Do not stay at Sawtelle RV park near island park they are rip off artists and tell you three different stories on prices.

Concur. Make your reservations early. If you go into Yellowstone via Grand Teton Nat'l Park stop at the Nat'l Park Campground Colter Bay (Listed under Grand Teton Nat'l Park in TrailerLife Directory). It's a lot cheaper and less crowded.

We have stayed At Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone because of full hook ups.Spaces are tight and a lot of trees to tangle with. This past summer we stayed at Grizzly RV park, West Yellowstone, Mt. A lot nicer, but very busy so book your spot now if you decide to go there.
There is so much to do and see between you and Yellowstone. Might take you a few years at 2-3 week intervals. Bryce and Zion Canyons in Utah are spectacular. Monument Valley Utah for the John Wayne fans. Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, dang the west is great!

Have fun

Aye it is tallyo, how many years in advance did you have to make reservations for fishing bridge. Three or four years ago I called them and they said two years minimum reservation for that one. Last year when we went to Yellowstone we stayed in West Yellowstone at a motel that had a small rv lot as well. Only a couple of minute drive from the Park Entrance. Price was good and it was basically a quiet spot to stay.

Whatever you do, stay away from KOA West Yellowstone unless you have no respect for your hard earned $$$$

We stayed at Hide-a-Way RV in West Yellowstone in 2002 and it was small and reasonable . We didn't have too hard of a time getting in with only a couple of weeks advance reservations. However, we stayed there late in May/first of June. If you go during the tourist season, get your reservations well in advance.

If you have the time go to Moab, Utah. Arches and Canyonlands National Park as well as Deadhorse Point State Park are to beautiful to miss. There are lots of campgrounds in and around Moab. We stayed at Moab Valley RV Park.
