How far west are you going ? Visit Yosemite - it's fantastic. If you can't get into the campgrounds in the park, stay at the Mariposa KOA nearby. It's very good too, especially for RVs.

I will be going as far west as Reno. Possibly dropping my trailer
there at a relatives. Then using my vehicle to explore. Thanx for the campground info..

Any ideas on Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Colorado ?? :)

Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado?

You don't say what direction you will be coming from so I'll try just for the area listed.

Wyoming: Yellowstone Park, Teton Park, Cody, the Bighorn Mtns., in July Cheyenne Frontier Days, the Snowy Range Mtns., Devil's Tower,

Colorado: Rocky Mtn. Park, Pike's Peak, Mesa Verde, Royal Gorge, Leadville, Granby, Garden of the Gods,

Utah: Great Salt Lake, Bryce Canyon NP, Zion NP, Capitol Reef NM,

That should give you a few things to consider.
