VDO Speedometer

Hoping that someone can help me.
I have a 1997 DSDP with a VDO Speedometer. I am having a problem with the LCD Display. Currently, no information is displayed. The light for the display works as does the speedometer. This problem began a number of years ago. When it was cold, the display would flash or there was no display at all. As it warmed up, everything went back to normal. Then, even though temperatures were warmer, it would not display. I thought it might be humidity. I also considered that there might be a bad ground, but since the lights and speedometer work, that doesn't seem to be the case. Any help would be appreciated.

VDO Speedometer

Thought you might like to know the outcome to my earlier request. The VDO (that is a brand name, like Siemens) speedometer was pulled from the MH and sent for repair. The LCD Display could not be fixed. The speedometer has to be replaced. The new one should arrive today and be installed and calibrated. Hopefully, this will all go well.
