Greetings from Germany! My wife and I are retired USAF, current Army civilian employees and fairly new to RVing after being "bounced" off our motorcycling hobby last year. We have a 2005 Fleetwood Tioga 31M which we love. It is our first RV but we tent camped for a few years before.
We recently traveled to Verdun France, Bastogne Belgium and Luxembourg over Memorial Day weekend.
We stayed at http://www.camping-lesbreuils.com/ in Verdun. For our rig, electricity, free water & dumping station, second car and two guests it was 27Euro ($35) per night. The campground was wonderfully landscaped, the hosts spoke English and everyone there was quite friendly. Many waved and said hello as they did their campground recons. There is also a very nice pool, beer garden and inside bar. Fresh croissants and bauquettes are delivered in the morning. As a bonus, it is easy to find off the highway with good signage and decent roads.
If WWI and WWII historical sights are not your cup of tea, there are countless other attractions a short drive from there, for example the birthplace of Joan of Arc is just an hour away. The countryside is beautiful and the roads are lightly traveled. After three tours (Paris, Normandy, Verdun) into France we can honestly say we've never had a delay on a French highway or backroad.
If you are traveling overseas, this campsite will impress you.
