How much clearance is considered adequate between the bottom of the shank and the road surface on weight distributing hitches? I've seen vehicles that seem to use the shank as a plow on uneven surfaces occasionally. I'm still considering which hitch to buy.
generally you want 17 inches from the top of the ball to ground but, you also want the rv level when hooked up so the distance will vary with each rv and tow vehicle.
