What is best way to repair joint failure between side of travel trailer and front end cap?

Due to water damage the front cap of my trailer has separated from the sides at the bottom. On the left the gap is now about 1/2 inch, on the right more like 1 1/2 inches.

The initial repair was just to press them together, put new screws in, and recauIk. That held for several months but the screws are loosening and the gaps are now reappearing. I am thinking that glass bedding 'L' shaped metal tabs is the best cure. I appreciate ANY comments before I try this!

You might try getting a good epoxy up inside of the loose area and then use bigger screws, if the material that the screws go into is still solid.

Thank you.

Would you consider fiberglassing a metal support between the two separated units and then covering everything with something like eternabond????
