What's the difference?

My husband and I will be finalizing the paperwork on a travel trailer on Monday. It is a 2004 Dutchmen Adirondack 26Q. As soon as we stepped into it, we both expressed "This is the one!" :) Throughout the week we were checking out the dealerships website and noticed that they have a new arrival on their lot. A 2004 Thor Adirondack 26Q for $1000 less then the Dutchmen. Call us stupid, but they look like the same exact trailer! The same year, same layout and even the same color. What is the difference between the two that would make one worth less money? Any comments to help us understand this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: What's the difference?

Crawl underneath both trailers from one end to the other, with a screwdrivier to probe with, and check for a rotten floor. Then go inside and crawl through both and make sure there are no soft places in the floor. This would be a sign of a rotten floor and a water leak. This would have to be repaired.

There may be very little relationship between the price and the 'value' :) Some dealers will charge what they thing they can get with little or no care for the worth of the unit.

If this dealer does pay attention to worth, one may be more 'worn out' than the other, or have more problems, or just be a less popular manufacturer. And keep in mind that the price that most dealers ask is not the price they will settle for...

RE: What's the difference?

Thanks for the advice. We actually purchased the one that cost more. The other one seemed to have more wear and tear on it. :)
