Re: 96 Bounder ATS location

Hi Luz and welcome to the best RV forum on the net. Generally the ATS will be located close to where your shore power cord comes in to the MH and/or close to the breaker panel/12 volt converter. It could be all incorporated in the breaker/converter box. Not much help, I know. Maybe someone with more Bounder experience will chip in.

RE: 96 Bounder ATS location

Thanks for the info, we have finally located the ATS behind the circuit braker box but appers to be fine so we are still trying to locate the problem with the 110v shore connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?

There is a good chance that the contacts are burned, or have welded closed. While you might be able to do a temporary fix, it is usually best to replace the ATS once that happens. Make sure that you remove all power before you open the device to look at it. If contacts look burned, then can be cleaned with a piece of emery cloth, or a point file. Be careful to remove only the amount needed as there is a coating that is intended to prevent this problem which if removed, will cause the problem to return very quickly.

One of the main things that cause this kind of problem is that people fail to turn off all loads before shifting power supplies.
