Do newly mounted travel tires need to be speed balanced?

Hi All,

It has been awhile but I'm back on line. I'm getting mixed messages from the tire guy and my friend who tows a trailer with his bobcat or mini excavator.

Do my new "sneakers" need to be high speed balanced prior to mounting on the TT? Heading out to Lake George NY next week and I need to get ready for the 4 hour ride.

Thanks,
sp
;)

Tires that are balanced will wear better and run cooler.

Though they try no tire is perfecty round. They will also have a little more ruber on onse side vs the other. Same goes for wheels. So it is very important to balance the tires... especially new. It is a real good idea to have them balanced after about 30% of the tread wear.

Used to deal in tires. I have actually had to spin tires on the wheel so keep the heavy spot on a wheel from lining up with the heavy spot on a tire.
