Elastomeric roof coating question?

I just got a 20ft 1978 Coachman. I want to reseal the roof. The roof now has the old type silver roof coating. My questions:
1. Will the new type Elastomeric roof coating bond to the old silver roof coating?
2. If I need to strip the old silver roof coating off, how's the best and easyest way to do it?
3. What is the best way to reseal the roof?

Thanks for your help,

RE: Elastomeric roof coating question?

Welcome to the forum,
In my opinion as long as the old roof is cleaned and any loose sealants are removed, there is no reason to remove the old coating. The Elastomeric Coating should bond to the old roofing material. I re coated my Rv roof with EDPM last spring. Managed to get some on my hand. It adheres to rv ladders, door knobs and tools
Wear Gloves, Follow instructions and prep the old roof well and I think you will be happy with the results. Also try not to pick a windy day as leaves may blow into your new white roof
Good luck
