I have a 1992, 25 foot Airstream (Weighs 6000-7000 lbs.)and the powered jack may be getting to the end of its life. Please provide some information on replacing the jack:
- Types of jacks, capacity etc.
- Do all jacks have the same three bolt pattern?
- How do you install them?
- Does camper make matter?
- Suggestion on where to purchase powered jack

Thanks for your help, LCP

Re: How To Replace Powered Jack

There are several Jack manufactures. Stay away from UF. They are having problems and my supplier is actually taking them back and issuing me credits. They are probably the cheapest you will find....for good reason.

Atwood makes a fair jack, but the bottom of their line does not have a handle to override the motor in case of failure or battery power loss.

I think the best one made is Barker. They have given us the least amount of problems. Not the cheapest out there, but you get what you pay for. They all have the emergency handle also.

The bolt pattern is the same...does not matter what trailer you put them on. You simple mount the jack and run a fused wire to the positive terminal on the battery. Jacks will have that wire.

You can get them from any Dealer, or I could send you one.
