For those among us who sometimes "need" to go along with our significant other on a side trip ... whilst inwardly sneering at the location ... we may should change our attitude.
Yesterday afternoon, DW was bored and found a casino 25 miles down the road in Maricopa, AZ. She's usually pretty lucky at these places while I usually bring along a book to read as I wait for her. Soooo, we drove through the dust and smell of cattle feed lots on the outskirts with me wondering what sort of a place this could be Way Out Here!
Harrah's Ak Chin Casino was a neat looking desert place ... big , BIG Place!
DW and I set a time to meet and she dashed off ... I took my $20 and went to look for the penny machines. Seems the casino was having a bit of a give away/promotion yesterday with a thing called the "Hot Seat" wherein every twenty minutes or so, they'd ring up a particular chair and offer the occupant the pick of an envelope containing a check between $100 & $500 dollars. If you are picked, the person to each side also get's a $100 check ... apparently to keep you from being robbed right there.
Shortly after I sat at a machine wherein cute little lambs played with explosives ( being a former Marine, like DL, I have a "thing" for sheep and explosives, go figure) two pretty young ladies came up and began blowing tin whistles and SHOUTING scaring the b'Jesus out of me. I was in a "Hot Seat"!
They hung some wierd thing around my neck and had me pick an envelope ... mine was $200! The guy next to me got a $100 check while DW who had been next to me on the other side but left moments before, got nuthin.
I left the machine to gloat to her over my "fortune" and then sat at another machine with wolves (I like them too) and the guy next to me gets hit on for the "Hot Seat" therefore tossing another $100 my way - he got $300! Time to find the DW and gloat again ...heeheee! I grab bit of well deserved liquid and sit at another wolf machine near the refreshments still playing on that original $20 ... and OMG but the fella next to me this time also gets hit on and snags $500! Yup, I got another $100!
I'm going to the bank this AM to deposit my stash ... that which was left after sharing with the DW ... might buy a lottery ticket too! Ya Think?
