pina colada

I was tired of my lady
We'd been together too long
Like a worn-out recording
Of a favorite song
So while she lay there sleepin
I read the paper in bed
And in the personal columns
There was this letter I read:

If you like pina coladas
And getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the cape
Then I'm the love that you've looked for
Write to me and escape

I didn't think about my lady
I know that sounds kinda mean
But me and my old lady
Had fallen into the same old dull routine
So I wrote to the paper
Took out a personal ad
And though I'm nobody's poet
I thought it wasn't half bad

Yes I like pina coladas
And getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food
I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon
And cut through all this red tape
At a bar called O'Malleys
Where we'll plan our escape

So I waited with high hopes
And she walked in the place
I knew her smile in an instant
I knew the curve of her face
It was my own lovely lady
And she said, oh it's you
Then we laughed for a moment
And I said, I never knew

That you liked pina coladas
And getting caught in the rain
And the feel of the ocean
And the taste of the champagne
If you like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the cape
You're the lady I've looked for
Come with me and escape

If you like pina coladas
And getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the summer cape
Then I'm the love that you've looked for
Write to me and escape
Yes I like pina coladas
And getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food
I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon
And cut through all this red tape
At a bar called O'Malleys
Where we'll plan our escape..."

Re: pina colada

only if it was to the margarita ville tune ,, now that would be good ,, but i know the song ,, it was a big hit in the early 80's ,, and was about the time that the disco and skating rinks hit the big time ,, i know cause i was a rink brat ,, yes i know how to ROLLER SKATE ,, and i will take on any one ,, even now ,, but i must say ,, i really need to get back into it ,, good exersize ,, and the old Reidel boots with Suregrip Plates and American Dream Wheels are getting a little old ,, but in great shape ,, unlike me
Also if any of u out there skated during this time ,, u need to ck out Roll Bounce ,, it is a modern version of the stuff that we did back then ,, u know the challenges from other clubs ,, and the big huge circle in the middle of the floor where we all did our stuff ,, ,, well only a few will know about that ,, but good movie ,, brings back memories ,, for me that is ,, but u all know me ,, that is easy ,, yesterday is a memorie for me

Rod, the skating rinks go futher back than that. Tried it once but my feet were up above my head and it was a concrete rink. Maybe that's what wrong with my tailbone. Didn't take but the one time to figure out God would have put wheels on my feet if he wanted me to do that

Well Rod I don't think I am as old as your dad but I had those skates and we skated up and down the street and the sidewalk. I never owned a pair of shoe skates. I have been to a skating rink or two but that was a few years and a few pounds ago. But I did learn to skate with the old metal skates with metal wheels that you used a skate key to tighten. "You got a pair of brand new roller skates, I got a brand new key!" Anyone remember that song?
