PLEASE! Would someone explain to me.....

Why it is when you spend lots of money on a big fine RV that you are so worried about how great the shower houses are at the RV Parks when you are parked at a full hook-up site and you have everything hooked up?

I just don't understand why someone would want to go outside their own adequately supplied RV, hauling their toiletries, towels, dry cloths, hair dryers, etc. to shower somewhere that hundreds of other people have showered. I don't care how great the shower house, it is still inconvenient to use it instead of your own private and convenient shower in the comfort of your own RV.

I mean I see people with big fine class A motor homes that I have seen on RV lots for sale and know they have great showers, yet there the camper goes down to the shower house. Just yesterday a woman was checking out the shower house here and she had a huge class A. It just really puzzles me. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Hmmmm...it sounds like neither roominess nor having to dump the tanks is the issue. How about privacy? Any chance the layout of the bathroom and bedroom just doesn't offer any privacy from whomever the person is RVing with? How about availability of hot water?

Well as far as roominess - even though I have the dreaded Forest River Sierra Travel Trailer, I have ample room in our garden tub/shower. As far as privacy, dang, me and the DH have been married since 1966, we have seen each other in our birthday suits a few times over the years, lol. As far as the hot water, we only have a ten gallon tank and it gives us plenty of hot water for a shower. Don't run out and we can both take one after the other without running out. And emptying the gray water? If you are already hooked up to the sewer, your gray water line is already open. Like I said, I don't understand.

I guess I can understand the sand thing but for the most part if I have full hookups I'm using my own shower.

well heck, I own Big MH , lol it only 36'. I use my shower and if we are in a hurry to go some where then I will head off to the CG shower while the wife is using our, or we reverse it. I like some of the CG bath houses but prefer my on shower. But I GUESS SOME JUST DON'T LIKE CLEANING THE SAND BOX.

Cleaning any sand out just takes water. Rod uses his shower for storage. I rib him a lot for that. We use our shower and have no fears of doing so. I have many fears from shower houses that are cleaned once a day and used by hundreds.

I also keep my valves closed until ready to dump. That way I have something to flush with.

When you are 6 feet 4 inches with a girth like an elephant there is not a lot of room to have a comfortable shower in my 34foot coachman.I have attempted this once with little success. I either use the outside shower on the van or the r,v parks showers. The minister of war also chooses to not use the on board shower and as we have not dry camped yet I await to see what she decides when there is not a clean comfortable amenities block. Regards from down under. BIG BILKO. :) :) :)

Well Rod confirmed what my DH said. He said people just don't want to mess up there showers in the RV. I told him he was crazy. Guess now I'll have to tell him he was right. DANG! Thanks a lot Rod! ;)

BTW Rod, you know if you wipe your feet very, very well before going into the MH, you wouldn't have to worry about the sand getting in the shower. ;)

SB that not his problem. GTS explained it to us. Rod uses his shower for storage. And his wonderful wife would not let him in with sand on his feet. And I know he doesn't want to make her mad at him, he knows which side of the bread the butter is on. BTW we stayed at the Naval base CG in Gulf port last year. It had to have been the temp. one as it wasn't big or exciting to stay in. But was good for a hold over and not for from the casinos. Good luck if you go to one.

Been using my own shower now for 14 years and my itty bitty little new $800 6 gal hot water tank gives me enough hot water to get clean with. ;) After taking my shower and drying, I use my towel to wipe down the shower. Golly darn if it doesn't keep it pretty clean. :approve:

DL u hit it on the head, clean it before you leave it. We have found this works the best to keep it looking good.

Yah, I have an idea and I've heard the same complaint from many. Due to the lower water pressure on RVs, after awhile one gets a really strong itch to have a nice toasty STRONG blast of water running down their backs rather than the whimpy trickle that falls from most RVs. That simple! No mystery to it. Who didn't know? I thought everybody did.

Think you have a good reason there Mafaria. I will use the camp ground bath house most of the time if we don't have full hookup service. You can take the shower head off and remove the little water miser fixture in the inlet and have good flow but, amazing how quick you can fill the tank with it removed. Turns the sprinkle into a shower.
