We purchased our 28' TT at the beginning of the summer and were told that we can get a 4" rear bumper hitch (like how the spare tire is attached) to carry bikes on our bike rack on the back of the trailer. We were told by the sales person that this would be "no problem" to carry our bikes this way. We bought a proper hitch and carried around bikes on most of our trips this summer. However, on our trip last weekend the bumper sheared halfway off and we had to put the bikes and spare tire inside the trailer for the rest of the trip. Does anyone else have experience with rear bumper hitches and bumper problems?

Yes, you have to be very careful what and how you carry items on the bumper. I have seen lots pull off and have had to reinforce lots.
