Removing battery pack backup as part of electrical system.

I am living in my 5th wheel full time and my battery backup will be needing replaced. However, I do not intend to use the unit for any travel and have a generator for backup and would like to circumvent the battery circuit without having to replace the batteries. The unit has the usual converter to switch to battery upon lose of power from hookup. Has anyone tried or experienced this alteration?

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
