OK, I don't usually do this, but I am gonna RANT a little. I am getting sick and tired of these SPAMMERS on here. We have a GREAT forum and these guys are getting under my skin just a LEETLE!!!!

The guy who has FLOODED the forum this morning wasbusy during the night. He (or she) is overseas, you can go to their web site and see that. I have a suggestion: EVERYONE HERE E-MAILTHEM BACK. Here is the address: qifeng8956@163.com Tell them how much you appreciate their SPAM. Give him some of his own medicine.

You can also go the website and complain thru the "Contact Us" link. I did.

Re: SPAM

I agree Ken, Getting to where I don't even want to bother going to the different post because of the spammers. Guess we could order big orders from them and then refuse to accept or pay. Think it is a good idea to bombard his website with rv talk.

Re: SPAM

You can't stop them by giving them your email address.

If the forum operators would implement some simple security devices on their forum, this would be cut out. In my opinion the forum operator has been derelict in implementing basic security features. In my opinion even our email addresses might not be secure assuming this lack of basic security measures.

Did you know that this is the only forum that I've been on that doesn't even verify that the new user even has an email address? Most forums will authenticate a new user. This one doesn't.

These spammers are not people. They are "scripts" that go out and perform these dastardly deeds.

I'm calling for the RVUSA forum operator to immediately REQUIRE ALL users to VERIFY their accounts at the NEXT login. It will be a small pain, but will allow the continued use of the forum. We've already seen an exodus of users tired of the spam.

The spammers have probably already created 100's of accounts just to be used for spamming.

AT THE NEXT LOGIN REQUIRE EVERYONE TO VALIDATE THEIR ACCOUNT VIA EMAIL OR REGISTER AGAIN WITH A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS.

Re: SPAM

Hollis, I sent her several PM's and saw her here a few mins. ago. I agree, and have told Cindy that some security measures are needed. I also dont want to spread my e-mail address, but I have Spam filters that work pretty good.

Re: SPAM

Well today is a no read day  Not worth going through all the spammers  Guess we can just turn the forum into a spammers forum :disapprove: Sure a lot of low life out there.

Re: SPAM

Tex is absolutely right. Other sites have had this problem and they have solved this problem. Not sure why RVUSA hasn't. RVUSA have been lucky that they have only been hit with ads. I have seen one site completely filled with porn. Took that site a long time to clean that mess up not to mention the business they lost.

RE: SPAM

What they have done is post their "advertising" in the comments on our albums.

Re: SPAM

OK I agree with EVERYONE. I am sending an email from my "junk" Yahoo account which I never check anyway. I am sick of the spammers as well. I agree with Ken, if there is a safe way to send bogus orders to these freaks, I am all for it.

Re: SPAM

Hello everyone. If you don't want your email address to display online, click on Control Panel in the top right and then uncheck the box that says, "Is my email publicly viewable?". That will hide it from showing when someone views more information about you here on the forums. I'm doing my best to keep it cleaned up and with your help sending me PM's and alerts when there is spam I can take care of it ASAP. The biggest issues happen over the weekend so if you see them on there feel free to send me an email anytime: cindy@rvusa.com. I do check my email via my blackberry when I'm out of the office. My programmer is also implementing features that will deter the spammers and robots from posting and we will continue monitoring it. If you have any questions, email or call me directly. Thank you for being a part of RVUSA.com.

Cindy Spencer :)

Re: SPAM

GREAT NEWS

Cindy, thanks for staying on top of it for us. I don't think anyone here would be offended if it came to re-registering, if it gets rid of spammers, or keeps them under control.

I, for one, am looking forward to moving on after the "Spam".
